750 homes
On the former Fenaco industrial site in Herzogenbuchsee (canton of Bern), a new sustainable district is planned, with around 750 apartments (1.5 to 5.5 rooms) for 1,300 to 1,500 residents, as well as commercial and office space for 700 to 1,000 jobs. Historic industrial buildings (Landi silo, Häfliger tower, boiler house, etc.) will be renovated and repurposed, complemented by new constructions, green spaces and a new district street, the Jacques-Häfliger-Strasse. The project aims for CO₂-neutral operation and is currently in the planning phase, with public inquiry held in 2025.
