The project
Helvetia plans to replace the Frohburg garden city in Zurich-Oerlikon, more than 70 years old, with a new dense development inspired by the garden city tradition. The number of homes will rise from around 307 to around 660, with apartments of 1.5 to 4.5 rooms, a café, a neighbourhood shop, a multi-purpose hall and a municipal day nursery. The project, winner of the «Mittag» study competition, is currently in the permit phase, with construction of the 1st stage scheduled to begin in spring 2027.
