The Bahnhofquartier Wettingen is a new mixed-use district being developed over approximately 35,000 m² in the immediate vicinity of Wettingen railway station in the canton of Aargau, 20 minutes by S-Bahn from Zurich. The project is jointly led by the municipality of Wettingen and the landowners Avadis Anlagestiftung, Swiss Post, AZ Invest AG and the SBB; it provides housing for around 900 new residents as well as almost 3,500 m² of commercial and service spaces. Implementation is phased between 2025 and 2029, with several buildings designed by different architectural teams selected through competitions.
