The project
The Büelgass project plans, on the site surrounding the existing development in Gossau (ZH), the construction of a new group of sustainable buildings comprising approximately 57 rental apartments as well as service and commercial spaces, notably for the Swiss Post and potentially Raiffeisen bank. Designed by the Zurich firm Squadrat Architekten, winner of a design competition, the scheme aims to revitalise the village centre with public squares, a community pavilion and more greenery along the Laufenbach. The zoning plan has come into force and the building permit application was submitted in May 2026, with construction start hoped for in autumn 2026 and completion expected around 2029.
